Here’s a map so you can see who you get to vote for. For elections, the Otago Regional Council is divided up into Constituencies. Click on the map above to open an interactive map where you can zoom and scroll as you like. Voters get to vote only for the candidates for their Constituency. I’m a candidate in the Dunedin Constituency, where I live. The Constituencies are as below:
Constituency | Number To Be Elected |
Dunedin | 6 |
Dunstan | 3 |
Molyneux | 2 |
Moeraki | 1 |
Not all of Dunedin City is in the Dunedin Constituency. It looks to me like the Mosgiel-Taieri and Strath Taieri Community Board areas are in the Molynuex Constituency. But don’t take my word for it, check out the map.
By the way, if you have been relying on the ORC Candidate Handbook Constituency Map; there was a mistake on that. The Waikouaiti Coast Community Board area wasn’t shown as part of the Dunedin Constituency. I’ve been assured that this on-line map is the correct version.
